Walking
From the center of Stone Town, head towards the waterfront along the seafront promenade. Enjoy the views of the Indian Ocean while walking. Continue walking past the Old Fort (Ngome Kongwe) and the House of Wonders (Beit-al-Ajaib), both iconic landmarks. After about 15-20 minutes, you will reach the Forodhani Gardens. From there, take the road leading out of Stone Town, which eventually transitions into a more rural path. Follow the signs that indicate Fumba. The walk should take approximately 1 hour and is about 4 km in distance.
Bicycle
Rent a bicycle from one of the many rental shops in Stone Town. Once you have your bike, head towards the waterfront and follow the same route as if you were walking, but on your bicycle. This will allow you to cover the distance quicker, approximately 20-30 minutes. Make sure to pay attention to local traffic, as some roads may be narrow or busy.
Dala Dala
Find a Dala Dala (local minibus) station in Stone Town. Look for a Dala Dala that is headed towards Fumba. These usually depart from designated stops near the market. The fare is very affordable, and the journey will take about 30-40 minutes. Inform the conductor that you want to get off at Fumba; they will assist you. Once you arrive in Fumba, follow the signs to the Blue Safari location, which should be nearby.
