Getting There

Walking
From the center of Stone Town, head east towards the waterfront. Walk along the main road, Baghani Street, until you reach the Old Fort (Ngome Kongwe). Continue past the Old Fort and take the road to your left onto Kenyatta Road. Follow Kenyatta Road until you reach the junction with Malindi Street, then take a right turn. Continue walking straight until you reach the roundabout in Darajani. From there, take the road leading towards Jambiani. Stay on this road as it will take you through the outskirts of Stone Town and eventually lead to Jambiani. The journey is approximately 20 kilometers, and it may take around 4-5 hours on foot. Once in Jambiani, follow the signs to Kibigija, and you will find Kuza Cave along the way.

Bicycle
If you prefer cycling, rent a bicycle from a local shop in Stone Town. Start at the Forodhani Gardens and head east towards the waterfront. Take Baghani Street, passing by the Old Fort (Ngome Kongwe) and continue straight onto Kenyatta Road. You will then take a right onto Malindi Street, and follow the road until you reach the roundabout at Darajani. Continue towards Jambiani, cycling along the main road which leads out of Stone Town. This route is approximately 20 kilometers and may take around 1.5 to 2 hours. Once you arrive in Jambiani, look for signs leading to Kibigija, where Kuza Cave is located.

Dala Dala (Local Minibus)
To reach Kuza Cave by Dala Dala, start at the Dala Dala station in Stone Town, which is located near the Darajani market. Look for the Dala Dala heading towards Jambiani. The fare is usually very affordable. Once you board, inform the conductor that you want to go to Jambiani. The journey will take approximately 30-45 minutes, depending on traffic. When you arrive in Jambiani, get off at the main stop and ask locals for directions to Kibigija; Kuza Cave is a popular attraction and they will be able to guide you.
