Car
If you are driving, start from Stone Town, the capital of Zanzibar. Head northeast on Mkunazini Road toward the roundabout. Take the first exit onto the Nyerere Road, following signs for Kiwengwa. Continue for approximately 45 minutes, passing through several small villages. When you reach Kiwengwa, look for signs indicating the direction to the beach; you will need to turn off the main road onto an unnamed road. Follow this road until you reach the coordinates 297R+FQX.
Public Transportation - Daladala
To use public transport, catch a 'daladala' (local minibus) from Stone Town heading toward Kiwengwa. These can be found at the bus station near the Old Fort. The fare is around 2,000 TZS (Tanzanian shillings). The journey will take about an hour and a half. Inform the driver you are going to Kiwengwa and ask to be dropped off at the nearest stop to the beach. From there, you may need to walk approximately 10-15 minutes towards the beach area, following signs to Barriera corallina di Kiwengwa.
Taxi
For a more direct option, consider hiring a taxi from any location in Zanzibar. This will cost between 40,000 to 60,000 TZS from Stone Town to Kiwengwa. Make sure to confirm the price before starting your journey. The taxi will take you directly to Barriera corallina di Kiwengwa, where you can enjoy the stunning coral reefs and marine life.
