Getting There

• Car

  If you are driving to Forodhani Park in Stone Town, begin your journey from any location in Zanzibar. Use a GPS or map application and set the destination to the coordinates R5QQ+M52, Forodhani Park. As you approach Stone Town, follow the signs directing you to the town center. Once you reach the center, look for signs that indicate parking areas nearby. Parking in Stone Town can be limited, so consider using designated parking lots such as the Old Fort parking area. After parking, walk towards the water, and you will find Forodhani Park along the waterfront.

• Public Transportation (Daladala)

  To reach Forodhani Park using public transportation, take a daladala (local minibus) heading to Stone Town. You can catch a daladala from various locations around the island; just ask locals for the nearest stop. The fare is usually very affordable, around TZS 500-1000 (approximately $0.25). Inform the conductor that you want to go to Stone Town, and they will drop you off at the main bus station. From there, walk towards the waterfront and follow the signs to Forodhani Park, which is located very close to the ferry terminal.

• Taxi

  If you prefer a more direct route, consider hiring a taxi to take you to Forodhani Park. You can easily find taxis in various locations around Zanzibar, especially in tourist areas. It is advisable to negotiate the fare before starting your journey; a typical fare from most areas in Zanzibar to Stone Town should be between $10-$20, depending on your location. Once the taxi drops you off, you will be just a short walk from the entrance of Forodhani Park.

• Walking

  If you are already in the Stone Town area, Forodhani Park is very accessible on foot. Look for signs directing you toward the waterfront. The park is located near the Old Fort and the ferry terminal. Enjoy the scenic walk along the streets of Stone Town, which are rich in history and culture, before arriving at the park.
