Car
From any location in Chattanooga Valley, get onto Highway 27 North. Continue on Highway 27 North for about 10 miles. Take the exit onto I-24 E toward Knoxville. Stay on I-24 E for about 5 miles, then take exit 185 for US-27 N toward Hixson. Merge onto US-27 N and continue for approximately 2 miles. Take the exit for TN-153 North toward Hixson and continue for about 5 miles. After crossing the Chickamauga Dam, take the exit toward Kings Point Rd. Follow the signs to Chickamauga Dam Day Use Area, which will be on your right at 3012-3020 Kings Point Rd, Chattanooga, TN 37406. There is no entrance fee for the day use area.

If using public transportation, start by taking the Chattanooga Area Regional Transportation Authority (CARTA) bus route 4 (Northgate). Board the bus at any nearby stop in Chattanooga Valley and ride until you reach the Northgate Mall. From there, transfer to the route 5 bus toward Hixson. Get off at the nearest stop to US-27 and Hixson Pike. From this point, you will need to walk about 1 mile to reach the entrance of Chickamauga Dam Day Use Area. Please note that you may need to check the current bus schedules, and there might be a fare of around $1.50 for a single ride on CARTA.

If you prefer cycling, start from any point in Chattanooga Valley and navigate to the nearest bike-friendly roads leading to Highway 27 North. From there, you can ride north along the highway, which has designated bike lanes in some areas. Follow the same route mentioned for cars, and after crossing the Chickamauga Dam, watch for signs directing you to Kings Point Rd. Please ensure you wear a helmet and follow all traffic laws. It's about a 10-12 mile ride, so plan accordingly.
