Getting There

  • Walking

    If you are starting at the Pigeon Forge Welcome Center on Dollywood Lane, head south on Dollywood Lane towards the main road. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with US-441. Cross US-441 to reach the opposite side of the road. From there, head east on US-441 until you reach the traffic light at Wears Valley Road. Turn left onto Wears Valley Road and continue for about 2.5 miles until you see the entrance to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park on your right. The Chimney Tops Trailhead will be just a little further down the road, located in the park. Follow the signs to the parking area.

  • Public Transport

    Start at the Pigeon Forge Trolley Station located on the Parkway. Take the trolley on the Yellow Route, which heads towards the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Get off at the stop closest to Wears Valley Road. From there, it is approximately a 20-minute walk to the entrance of the Chimney Tops Trail. Follow the road towards the entrance of the park, and look for directional signs leading to the Chimney Tops Trailhead.

  • Biking

    If you have access to a bicycle rental, you can start from the Pigeon Forge Parkway. Head north on the Parkway towards the intersection with Wears Valley Road. Turn right onto Wears Valley Road and bike for about 2.5 miles. You will see the entrance to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park on your right. Continue riding until you reach the Chimney Tops Trailhead. Please remember to wear a helmet and be cautious of traffic.
