Getting There

  • Walking

    If you are starting from the Abilene Convention and Visitors Bureau located at 201 Cypress St, Abilene, TX 79601, head south on Cypress St towards E North 1st St. Continue straight for about 0.4 miles until you reach Pecan St. Turn left onto Pecan St and walk for about 0.3 miles. The Texas Forts Trail will be on your right at 317 Pecan St.

  • Public Transit

    From the Abilene Public Library located at 202 Cedar St, Abilene, TX 79601, walk to the nearest bus stop on Cedar St. Take the City of Abilene Transit (CAT) bus route that goes towards the downtown area. You will need to transfer at the downtown hub. Once you arrive at the stop near 317 Pecan St, disembark and walk a short distance east to reach Texas Forts Trail at 317 Pecan St.

  • Bicycle

    If you have access to a bicycle, start from the Abilene Taylor County Public Library at 202 Cedar St. Head east on Cedar St, then turn left onto 1st St. Continue straight for approximately 0.5 miles. Turn left onto Pecan St and bike for another 0.3 miles. The Texas Forts Trail will be on your right at 317 Pecan St.
