Getting There

    If you are starting from the Panther Junction Visitor Center, head west on TX-385 N for about 3 miles. Then, turn left onto the road leading to the Chisos Basin. Follow the signs for Chisos Mountains, which is approximately 12 miles up this scenic road. You will encounter beautiful views and possible wildlife along the way. Once you reach the Chisos Basin, park in the designated parking area. The Chisos Mountains are known for their stunning vistas and hiking trails.

    From the Santa Elena Canyon, take TX-170 E for about 8 miles until you reach TX-385. Turn right onto TX-385 N and drive approximately 20 miles. Turn left onto the road to Chisos Basin, which is marked. Continue for about 12 miles until you reach the Chisos Mountains parking area. Be sure to enjoy the breathtaking desert views as you drive!
