Getting There

Walking
From the center of North Overton, head west on 19th Street towards University Avenue. Continue walking straight for about half a mile until you reach the intersection with I-27. At this point, turn right onto the sidewalk that follows I-27. The Site of Old Lubbock Historical Marker is located just off the interstate. Walk for about another quarter-mile, and you will see the marker on your left side, easily identifiable by its historical sign.

Biking
If you have access to a bicycle, start at the North Overton Community Park. Head south on University Avenue, then take a left onto 19th Street. Continue west until you reach I-27. There is a bike lane along University Avenue and 19th Street, making for a safe ride. Once you reach I-27, follow the path along the interstate to the marker, which will be about a mile from the park. The marker will be on your left side.

Public Transit (Bus)
You can take the Citibus from North Overton. Board the bus at the nearest stop on 19th Street. Check the schedule for the bus route that heads towards I-27. Once you arrive at the stop closest to I-27, which is typically the stop at the intersection with University Avenue, disembark and walk approximately 0.5 miles along the sidewalk beside I-27 to reach the Site of Old Lubbock Historical Marker. Be sure to have a few quarters for the bus fare, as it generally costs around $1.00 per ride.
