If you are driving, start from the center of Lubbock. Head east on 19th Street toward Avenue A. Continue straight for about 5 miles until you reach Avenue A. Turn left onto Avenue A. The Caviel Museum of African American History will be on your right at 1719 Avenue A. There is parking available near the museum.

Public Transportation
For public transportation, you can take the Citibus Route 1 from the Lubbock Downtown Transit Center. Board the bus heading toward the 19th Street & University Avenue stop. Once you reach 19th Street, transfer to Route 2 and continue until you reach Avenue A. Get off at the stop closest to Avenue A and walk about 0.3 miles south to the museum at 1719 Avenue A. Be sure to check the Citibus schedule for the latest timings.

If you are already in the nearby area and prefer to walk, from the Lubbock Civic Center, head east on 19th Street until you reach Avenue A. Turn left on Avenue A and continue walking for about 0.5 miles. The Caviel Museum of African American History will be on your right. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes as some parts of Avenue A may not have sidewalks.
