Start from the Chiang Mai Old City. Head north on Ratchadamnoen Road until you reach the intersection with Thapae Road. Turn right onto Thapae Road and walk straight for about 1 kilometer, passing by Thapae Gate and the Sunday Walking Street market (if it's Sunday). Continue straight until you reach the end of Thapae Road and turn left onto Chaiyapoom Road. Follow Chaiyapoom Road for approximately 500 meters, then turn right onto Huay Kaew Road. After about 200 meters, look for a small pathway on your left that leads to the Big old tree, located in a quiet area. The tree is easily recognizable due to its large trunk and extensive canopy.

  • Public Transport (Songthaew)

From the Old City, walk to the nearest Songthaew stop on Ratchadamnoen Road. Board a red Songthaew heading towards the Nimmanhaemin area. Inform the driver that you want to go to the Big old tree, and they will drop you off at Huay Kaew Road. Once you get off, walk back about 200 meters to find the entrance to the path that leads to the Big old tree. It's a short walk from the road to the tree itself.

  • Bicycle

Rent a bicycle from one of the many rental shops in the Old City. Start by cycling north on Ratchadamnoen Road, then turn right onto Thapae Road. Continue on Thapae Road for about 1 kilometer.
