Getting There

• Car

  If you are traveling by car, start from the nearest major town in the Phi Pan Nam Range, which is likely to be Nan. From Nan, take Highway 1256 east towards the town of Bo Kluea. After approximately 30 kilometers, turn onto Highway 1080 and follow the signs for Phu Hin Rong Kla National Park. As you drive, you will enjoy beautiful mountain scenery. Once you arrive at the park entrance, you may need to pay a small entry fee (around 100 THB per person). After entering the park, follow the signs that direct you to Phou Hin-Ang. The final stretch may require navigating a smaller road, so keep an eye out for local signage.

• Public Transportation

  To reach Phou Hin-Ang using public transportation, first take a bus from Nan to Bo Kluea. Buses depart from the Nan bus station and the journey takes about 1.5 to 2 hours. Once you arrive in Bo Kluea, you will need to hire a local tuk-tuk or songthaew (shared taxi) to take you to Phu Hin Rong Kla National Park. The fare for this ride can vary but expect to pay around 300-500 THB depending on your negotiation skills. After reaching the park entrance, you will have to pay an entry fee (approximately 100 THB per person). From the entrance, follow the park's internal signs to Phou Hin-Ang, which may involve a short hike.

• Hiking

  If you are already within the vicinity of Phu Hin Rong Kla National Park, you can opt for hiking to reach Phou Hin-Ang. From the park's visitor center, there are marked trails that lead to the peak. Ensure you have sufficient water, snacks, and proper hiking gear. The trails can be steep and rugged, so it's advisable to start early in the day to avoid the heat. The hike might take approximately 2-3 hours depending on your fitness level.
