Walking
From central Nuku'alofa, head south on Vuna Road towards the Royal Palace. Continue walking until you reach the intersection with Hala Niu Street. Turn left onto Hala Niu Street and walk until you reach the end of the street. At the end, you will find a small path leading to the coastal area. Follow this path along the coast until you reach the blowholes at Mapu'a Vaea, which is located in Houma. The walk should take approximately 1 to 1.5 hours depending on your pace.
Bicycle
Rent a bicycle from a local shop in Nuku'alofa. Start from the main waterfront area and cycle along Vuna Road heading south. When you reach the intersection with Hala Niu Street, turn left. Continue cycling straight until you reach the end of Hala Niu Street. You will see a coastal path; follow it to reach the Mapu'a Vaea Blowholes. The ride should take around 30 to 40 minutes.
Taxi
While not walking, you can take a local taxi. From your location in Nuku'alofa, simply ask the driver to take you to Mapu'a Vaea Blowholes in Houma. Make sure to confirm the fare before starting your trip. The journey usually takes about 20 minutes.
Bus
Catch a local bus from the main bus terminal in Nuku'alofa. Look for buses heading towards Houma. Once on the bus, inform the driver that you want to get off at Mapu'a Vaea Blowholes.
