Getting There

  • Car

    From Penal-Debe, head north on the SS Erin Road (also known as the San Fernando-Point Fortin Road). Continue straight until you reach the intersection with the Sir Solomon Hochoy Highway. Merge onto the Sir Solomon Hochoy Highway heading north. After approximately 12 kilometers, take the exit for the North Coast Road. Follow the North Coast Road for about 25 kilometers until you reach Maracas Beach. Keep an eye out for signs along the way. Note that parking is available near the beach, but there may be a fee for parking.

    To reach Maracas Beach by public transportation, start from Penal-Debe and take a taxi or a public bus to San Juan. In San Juan, look for a bus heading to Maracas Beach, often called a 'maxi taxi'. These maxi taxis typically leave from the San Juan terminal and will take you directly to Maracas Beach. The journey may take around 1 to 1.5 hours depending on traffic. Expect to pay approximately TT$10 to TT$20 for the bus fare.
