If you are driving, start from the center of Commagene. Head northeast on the D975 highway towards Bitlis. Continue for approximately 50 kilometers until you reach the junction for Lake Nemrut. Take the exit towards Lake Nemrut and follow the signs. The final stretch will take you through scenic mountain roads. Look out for parking areas near the lake where you can leave your car.
Public Transportation
To reach Lake Nemrut using public transportation, first, take a dolmuş (shared minibus) from Commagene to Bitlis. The journey should take about an hour and cost around 20-30 TL. Once you arrive in Bitlis, you can catch another dolmuş heading to the Lake Nemrut area. Make sure to confirm with the driver that they will drop you near the lake. This second leg might take about 30-40 minutes, and the fare will be approximately 15 TL.
