Getting There

• Ferry

  To get to Demokrasi ve Özgürlükler Island, you can take a ferry from Kabataş Ferry Terminal. Start by making your way to Kabataş, which is easily accessible via the T1 tram line. Board the tram at any stop along the route and disembark at Kabataş. Once at the terminal, purchase a ticket for the ferry to Adalar (Princes' Islands). Ferries run frequently, but it's a good idea to check the schedule in advance. The ferry ride will take approximately 1 hour. After arriving at the Adalar district, look for a smaller boat that services Demokrasi ve Özgürlükler Island, as it is not directly accessible from the main ferry terminal.

• Public Transport

  If you are near the Eminönü area, you can also take a ferry to Adalar from Eminönü Ferry Terminal. First, make your way to the Eminönü area using the T1 tram line or any available bus service. Once at the Eminönü Terminal, buy a ticket for the ferry to Adalar. The trip will take about 1 hour. After disembarking at the Adalar district, you will need to catch a smaller boat to reach Demokrasi ve Özgürlükler Island.

• Walking/Local Transport

  Once you arrive at the Adalar district from either Kabataş or Eminönü, you can either walk or take a local horse-drawn carriage (known as a 'phaeton') to the smaller boat docks.
