Car
If you're traveling by car, head towards the town of Sheema. From Mbarara, take the Mbarara-Kabale road (A404) and continue until you reach the town of Sheema. Once in Sheema, follow the signs towards Kitagata. The hot springs are located approximately 10 km from Sheema town. The drive should take about 30 minutes. Parking is available near the hot springs.
Public Transportation
To reach Kitagata Hot Springs via public transportation, take a taxi or bus from Mbarara to Sheema. Buses frequently depart from the Mbarara bus terminal. Once you arrive in Sheema, you can hire a motorcycle taxi (boda boda) to take you to Kitagata, which is about 10 km away. The ride should cost around 10,000 UGX. Ensure to negotiate the fare before starting your journey.
Boda Boda (Motorcycle Taxi)
If you're already in Sheema and need to get to Kitagata Hot Springs, you can hire a boda boda. These motorcycle taxis are a popular means of transport in the area. Make sure to agree on the fare beforehand, which should be around 10,000 UGX for a one-way trip. The ride will take approximately 15-20 minutes.
