Getting There

  • Car

    From the center of Bukedi, head north on the main road towards Lira. Continue on this road for approximately 70 km until you reach the junction for the Unnamed Road leading to Aruu Falls. Turn onto the Unnamed Road and follow it for about 5 km until you reach the falls. Be cautious of the road conditions, as some parts may be unpaved.

  • Public Transportation

    Take a taxi or matatu from Bukedi towards Lira. You can find these at the main taxi park. Once you reach Lira, you will need to hire a motorcycle taxi (boda-boda) or a private taxi to take you to Aruu Falls. Make sure to negotiate the fare before starting the journey. The distance from Lira to the falls is about 15 km, and the boda-boda ride should cost around 10,000 to 15,000 UGX.

  • Walking

    If you're staying nearby and prefer to walk, once you reach the Unnamed Road, you can walk the remaining 5 km to Aruu Falls. Ensure you have adequate water and wear comfortable shoes, as the terrain may be uneven. It’s advisable to walk during daylight hours for safety.
