Getting There

Car
If you are traveling by car, start from the center of Bukedi. Head east on the main road towards Mbale. After approximately 25 km, you will see signs directing you to Nyakalengija. Turn left onto the road leading to Nyakalengija. Continue straight for about 10 km, and you will arrive at the vicinity of Mount Gessi, which is located at the coordinates CWFC+VHC, Nyakalengija. Make sure to use a GPS or map application for accurate navigation.

Public Transportation
To reach Mount Gessi using public transportation, first make your way to the nearest bus station in Bukedi. Look for a matatu (shared taxi) heading towards Mbale. The fare should be around UGX 5,000-10,000. After approximately 25 km, disembark at the Nyakalengija junction. From there, you can either walk the remaining 10 km to Mount Gessi or hire a local motorcycle taxi (boda boda) for about UGX 10,000-15,000 to take you directly to the location.

If you prefer to walk from Nyakalengija, after reaching the junction where you disembarked from the matatu, follow the main road heading toward Mount Gessi.
