From the center of Mbale, head east on the A109 road towards the town of Nyero. Continue driving for approximately 25 kilometers until you reach the Nyero junction, where you will see signs for Nyero Rock Paintings. Turn left at the junction onto a smaller road leading to the paintings. Follow this road for about 5 kilometers until you arrive at the site. There is no entrance fee, but it's advisable to hire a local guide to enhance your experience.
Public Transportation
Catch a 'matatu' (shared taxi) from Mbale to Nyero. These can be found at designated taxi parks in Mbale. The fare is around 5,000 UGX. Once you arrive in Nyero, you can either walk or hire a local boda-boda (motorbike taxi) to take you to the rock paintings site, which is approximately 2 kilometers from the town. The boda-boda fare is typically around 2,000 UGX.
