Car
If you are traveling by car, start your journey from the center of Mbale town. Head north on the Mbale-Budadiri road for approximately 20 kilometers. You will pass through the towns of Budadiri and then continue towards the Mount Elgon National Park entrance. Once you reach the park entrance, follow the signs indicating the direction to the hot springs. The road becomes more rugged, so a 4x4 vehicle is recommended. After about 10 kilometers on the park road, you will reach the Mount Elgon Hot Spring. Ensure to have cash for the park entrance fee, which is approximately 30,000 UGX for foreign visitors.

Public Transportation (Matatu)
From Mbale, you can take a matatu (shared taxi) heading towards Budadiri. The fare is usually around 2,000 UGX. Inform the driver that you are going to the Mount Elgon National Park entrance. The matatu will drop you off near the park entrance. From there, you can either walk or hire a local boda-boda (motorcycle taxi) to take you the remaining distance to the hot springs, which is about 10 kilometers inside the park. The boda-boda fare is around 15,000-20,000 UGX.
