Car
From Mbale town, head south on the Mbale - Kampala Road (A109) for about 5 km until you reach the junction to Bungokho. Turn left onto the Bungokho Road and continue for approximately 8 km. As you approach Bungokho, keep an eye out for signs directing you to Wanale Ridge. The location is near the coordinates 1.0476212 latitude and 34.2271975 longitude. You may need to park your car at a nearby safe location and continue on foot.
Public Transportation
From Mbale town, take a matatu (shared taxi) heading towards Bungokho. The fare is usually around 1,000 UGX (Ugandan Shillings). After about 30 minutes, the matatu will drop you off in the center of Bungokho. From there, you can hire a local boda boda (motorcycle taxi) for about 3,000 UGX to take you closer to Wanale Ridge. Make sure to confirm the price before starting the ride. Once you arrive near the ridge, there may be a short walking trail to reach the viewpoint.
