Getting There

  • Walking

    If you are located in the central area of Entebbe, you can walk to Uganda Wildlife Conservation Center located at Plot 56, 57 Lugard Ave. Start by heading east on Main Street towards the lake. Continue until you reach the intersection with Lugard Avenue. Turn right onto Lugard Avenue and walk straight for about 1.5 kilometers. You will see the entrance to the Uganda Wildlife Conservation Center on your left.

  • Bicycle

    For those who prefer cycling, rent a bicycle at one of the local shops in Entebbe. Start your journey from the Entebbe Botanical Gardens, heading southeast on the road adjacent to the lake. Continue cycling until you reach the junction with Lugard Avenue. Turn left onto Lugard Avenue and cycle for approximately 2 kilometers. The Uganda Wildlife Conservation Center will be on your left-hand side.

  • Public Transport (Boda-Boda)

    To reach Uganda Wildlife Conservation Center by Boda-Boda (motorcycle taxi), find a nearby Boda-Boda stage in Entebbe. Inform the driver you want to go to Uganda Wildlife Conservation Center on Lugard Avenue. The ride should take around 10 minutes, depending on traffic. Make sure to confirm the fare before starting your journey.

  • Public Transport (Matatu)

    While Matatus (shared minibuses) are less common in Entebbe, you can take one to the nearest stop. Board a Matatu heading towards Kampala, and ask the driver to drop you at the nearest stop to Lugard Avenue. From there, it’s a short walk (about 500 meters) to the Uganda Wildlife Conservation Center. Follow Lugard Avenue to the west, and you'll find the center's entrance on your left.
