    If you are in the center of Mbale, start by heading towards the main road (Jinja-Mbale road) and look for signs leading to Mbale Town Council. Walk east along this road for about 1 kilometer. You will pass by local shops and eateries along the way. Keep an eye out for the Mbale District Office on your left; this is a good landmark. Continue walking until you reach the roundabout, and take the first exit to your left onto the road leading to the Mbale Central Market. From the market, walk straight for another 500 meters until you see the entrance to the Mt Elgon Culture and History Museum on your right.
