Getting There

Walking
From the center of Mbarara, head east on Main Street towards the Mbarara Cathedral. Continue straight until you reach the junction at the Total fuel station. Here, take a right onto the Baha'i Road. Follow this road for about 1.5 kilometers until you reach the Rugarama Trading Center. At the trading center, ask locals for directions to Rugarama Hills, which is located just a short distance from there. You will need to walk uphill for about 20 minutes to reach the scenic viewpoints of Rugarama Hills.

Bicycle
Start at the Mbarara Main Market and head south towards the Mbarara University of Science and Technology. Continue on this route until you reach the Total fuel station, then turn left onto Baha'i Road. Ride along this road for approximately 1.5 kilometers until you arrive at Rugarama Trading Center. From there, you can either ask locals for further directions or ride up the nearby hill which will lead you directly to Rugarama Hills.

Public Transportation (Boda Boda)
From the Mbarara town center, find a boda boda (motorcycle taxi) stand. Inform the rider that you would like to go to Rugarama Hills. They will take you to Rugarama Trading Center. Once you arrive at the trading center, you may need to walk uphill for about 20 minutes to reach the hills. Make sure to negotiate the fare before starting your journey.
