To reach Murchison Falls National Park via public transport, take a bus from Kampala to Masindi. Buses leave from various terminals in Kampala, such as the Namayiba Bus Terminal. The journey typically takes about 4 to 5 hours. Once in Masindi, you can hire a taxi or a local boda-boda (motorcycle taxi) to take you to the park entrance, which is about 1.5 hours away. Expect to pay around 30,000 to 50,000 UGX for the taxi ride.

Another option is to take a shared taxi (matatu) from Kampala to Masindi. Shared taxis depart frequently and can be found in the city center. This is usually a quicker option than a bus. When you arrive in Masindi, hire a local taxi to take you to the park entrance. The total cost for the shared taxi and local taxi may range from 40,000 to 80,000 UGX.
