To reach the Uganda Equator from any location in Northern Region by car, you can take the following route: Start on the Gulu-Kampala Road (A-1) heading south. Continue driving for approximately 300 kilometers until you reach the town of Kayabwe. Look for signs indicating the Uganda Equator, and you will find it located at X2VP+M6, Plot 24 Kikutuzi, Mpigi District. There are parking facilities available near the Equator site. Make sure to account for fuel costs, which may range from UGX 100,000 to UGX 200,000 depending on your vehicle and fuel prices.
Public Transportation - Bus
To travel to the Uganda Equator using public transportation, first, make your way to the Gulu bus terminal. Look for buses heading to Kampala. The journey will take approximately 6-7 hours and cost around UGX 30,000 to UGX 50,000. Once you arrive at the Kampala bus terminal, you can take a taxi or a local matatu (shared taxi) to Kayabwe.
