Car
If you are driving from Gulu, take the Gulu-Kampala Road (A1) heading south. Continue for approximately 330 kilometers until you reach Kampala. Once in Kampala, follow the signs to Mulago Referral Hospital. The Uganda Museum is located just after the hospital on Plot 5 Old Kira Road, Kitante. There is ample parking available near the museum. Be aware of traffic, especially during peak hours, and be prepared for a driving time of about 6-7 hours depending on road conditions.
Public Transportation (Bus)
Begin your journey at the Gulu Bus Park, where you can catch a bus heading to Kampala. The journey usually takes around 8-10 hours, so be prepared for a long trip. Buses typically leave every hour and cost between 30,000 to 50,000 UGX. Once you arrive at the Kampala Bus Park, you can take a taxi or boda-boda (motorcycle taxi) to the Uganda Museum. Ask the driver to take you to Mulago Referral Hospital, and the museum will be just after that on Old Kira Road.
Taxi or Boda-Boda from Kampala
If you are already in Kampala, you can take a taxi or boda-boda to the Uganda Museum. The fare for a taxi can range from 10,000 to 20,000 UGX depending on your starting point, while a boda-boda may cost around 5,000 to 10,000 UGX. Make sure to confirm the price before starting your journey. Direct the driver to take you to Plot 5 Old Kira Road, after Mulago Referral Hospital.
