Private Car
If you are traveling by private car, head towards Gulu town. From Gulu, take the Gulu - Patiko Road, which is well-marked. Continue on this road for approximately 20 kilometers until you reach Fort Patiko, which will be on your right side. Ensure your vehicle is in good condition, as some parts of the road may be rough. Parking is available near the site.
Public Transportation (Matatu)
To reach Fort Patiko using public transport, first go to Gulu town. From the Gulu main bus park, look for a matatu (shared taxi) heading towards Patiko. The matatu fare is around 3,000 UGX. Inform the driver that you are headed to Fort Patiko. The journey takes about 30 minutes. After you arrive, you may need to walk about 1 kilometer from where the matatu drops you to reach the fort.
Boda Boda (Motorcycle Taxi)
Once you are in Gulu, you can hire a boda boda to take you directly to Fort Patiko. Negotiate the fare beforehand, which typically ranges from 10,000 to 15,000 UGX for a one-way trip. The ride takes approximately 20-30 minutes. Make sure to wear a helmet and follow safety precautions while riding.
