    Getting There

    Car

    From Teso, head towards Mbale on the Mbale-Kumi road. Continue for about 50 kilometers until you reach Mbale town. In Mbale, take the road towards the town center and then follow signs for the Budadiri route. This road will take you through Budadiri, and after about 25 kilometers, you will arrive at the entrance of Mount Elgon National Park. Parking is available at the park entrance, and you may need to pay a small fee for parking.

    Public Transport

    From any location in Teso, take a shared taxi (matatu) heading towards Mbale. The journey to Mbale will take about 1.5 to 2 hours, depending on traffic. Once you arrive in Mbale, you can take another shared taxi heading to Budadiri. This ride will take approximately 30 minutes. Inform the driver that you want to stop at Mount Elgon National Park. You will then need to walk a short distance to the park entrance. Be prepared to pay a small entrance fee to access the park.

    Boda Boda (Motorcycle Taxi)

    If you prefer a quicker option after reaching Mbale, you can hire a boda boda from the taxi park to take you directly to Mount Elgon National Park. The ride will take about 30 minutes and costs around 10,000 UGX. Ensure that the boda boda driver knows the route to the park entrance.
