Once you reach Stonehaven, ask the driver to let you off at the Dunnottar Castle stop, or get off at the Stonehaven town center and walk towards the castle following signs for about 20 minutes.

From Aberdeen, board a ScotRail train heading towards Stonehaven. You can catch the train from Aberdeen Railway Station, which is located close to the city center. The train journey takes about 20 minutes. After disembarking at Stonehaven Station, exit the station and walk towards the coast, following the signs for Dunnottar Castle. The castle is approximately a 30-minute walk from the station, and you will pass through scenic areas along the way.
