Getting There

  • Car

    If you're driving from the center of Aberdeen, head west on Union Street/A9013. Continue onto Holburn Street, then take a right onto the A93 towards Westhill. Stay on the A93 for about 5 miles. When you reach the roundabout at the junction with the A92, take the second exit to stay on the A93. After about 2 miles, take the exit toward Skene Road/A944. Merge onto Skene Road and continue for about 1 mile. Den of Maidencraig will be on your right. There is no parking fee at the site.

  • Public Transportation (Bus)

    From Aberdeen city center, take the Stagecoach bus number 19 towards Westhill. This bus runs frequently and the journey takes about 30 minutes. Get off at the 'Maidencraig' stop. From there, it's approximately a 10-minute walk to Den of Maidencraig. Walk along Skene Road until you reach the entrance to the nature reserve. Note that the bus fare is around £2.50.

  • Public Transportation (Train and Bus)

    Take a train from Aberdeen to Inverurie station, which takes about 15 minutes. From Inverurie, catch the bus number 37 towards Aberdeen which will take you to the 'Maidencraig' stop. The total travel time may take about 45 minutes to 1 hour depending on the connection. The combined train and bus fare will be approximately £6.00.
