Car
If you are traveling by car, start from Fort William. Head south on the A82 road towards Inverness. After approximately 6 miles, take the left turn onto the A861 towards Strontian. Continue on the A861 for about 8 miles until you reach the B8007. Turn right onto the B8007 and follow the signs for Lochan na Luireach. The lake will be on your right after about 3 miles. There is a small parking area available near the lake.

For those using public transportation, take a bus from Fort William to Strontian. The bus service is operated by West Coast Motors, and you can check the latest schedule on their website. The bus journey takes approximately 30-40 minutes. Once you arrive in Strontian, you will need to walk approximately 3 miles to reach Lochan na Luireach. Follow the A861 road towards the west. Be sure to wear comfortable walking shoes and be prepared for some uneven terrain.

If you are already in Strontian and prefer to walk, you can reach Lochan na Luireach by taking the A861 westward. The walk is about 3 miles and will take approximately 1 hour.
