From Cardiff Central Station, purchase a ticket to Caerphilly Station. Trains run regularly, approximately every 30 minutes. Once on the train, enjoy the scenic ride which takes about 20 minutes. Upon arrival at Caerphilly Station, exit the station, and turn right onto the main road. Follow the road for about 10-15 minutes, and you will reach Caerphilly Castle, located at Castle St, CF83 1JD.

From Cardiff city centre, head to the bus stop at Central Station. Look for the number 26 or 30 bus towards Caerphilly. The journey takes about 30-40 minutes depending on traffic. Get off at the stop named Castle Street, which is just a short walk from Caerphilly Castle. Follow the signs pointing towards the castle, and you will see it in a few minutes.

Walking
If you are feeling adventurous and want to walk, start from Cardiff city centre and head north towards the A469 (Cynon Road). It’s a distance of about 7 miles, which will take approximately 2-3 hours on foot. Follow the footpaths along the A469, and as you approach Caerphilly, you will see the castle on your left, just off Castle Street.
