Car
From Dumfries, take the A75 road heading west towards Castle Douglas. Continue on A75 for approximately 15 miles. As you approach Castle Douglas, take the exit onto the A713 towards Ayr. Follow the signs for Threave House, which is located just outside of the town, approximately 1 mile from the A75. There is free parking available on-site.

You can take a bus from Dumfries to Castle Douglas. Services such as the Stagecoach 500 route operate regularly. The journey takes around 30 minutes. Once you arrive at Castle Douglas main bus station, you can either walk (approximately 20 minutes) or take a taxi to Threave House, which is about 1 mile away. If walking, head northeast on the A713, following the signs for Threave House. Note that taxi fares may vary.

If you are already in Castle Douglas, you can reach Threave House on foot. From the town center, head northeast on the A713 towards Threave. The walk is about 1 mile and will take approximately 20-25 minutes. Follow the pavement along the A713, and you will see signage directing you to Threave House.
