If you are driving from Kirkcudbright, head southwest on the A755 road towards Castle Douglas. After approximately 9 miles, you will reach the outskirts of Castle Douglas. Continue on the A75 towards Dumfries for about 1 mile until you see signs for Orchardton Tower. Turn left onto Orchardton Road, and follow it until you reach the tower. There is limited parking available near the site.
