Getting There

Walking
If you are starting from the city center, head towards the Market Place. From the Market Place, take the North Road heading east. Continue on this road until you reach the junction with the A177. Turn right onto the A177 and follow it until you reach the entrance to the Palace Green. You will see Durham Castle on your left as you approach.

Catch any bus from the main bus station in Durham that is heading towards the university, such as the 'U' buses. Get off at the stop 'Palace Green'. From there, walk towards the castle which will be directly ahead of you, just a short walk across the green.
