Getting There

• Car

  If you are traveling by car, head towards Southend-on-Sea using the A127 or A13 roads, depending on your starting point in Essex. Once you approach Southend, follow the signs for 'Seafront' or 'Southend Pier'. You can park at the nearby seafront car parks, such as the Western Esplanade Car Park (charges apply) or the Pier Hill Car Park. From the car park, it is a short walk to Southend Pier.

• Train

  If you prefer to travel by public transport, take a train to Southend Central or Southend Victoria station from various locations in Essex. From Southend Central, exit the station and walk towards the seafront (approximately 15 minutes). If arriving at Southend Victoria, take the number 29 bus towards the seafront, which will drop you near the Pier Hill area. Check the train schedules as they vary, and remember to purchase your ticket before boarding.

• Bus

  Buses are also a convenient option. You can catch the number 1, 9, or 29 bus from various Essex towns to Southend. Make sure to get off at the 'Southend Pier' stop, which is a short walk from the pier entrance. Bus fares vary, so check the local bus service for exact prices and schedules.

• Walking

  If you are already in Southend or nearby, walking to the pier is a lovely option. Follow the signs to the seafront from the town center. The walk from Southend Central station to the pier takes about 15 minutes, and it’s a pleasant stroll along the seafront.
