Public Bus
From Inverness City Centre, make your way to the bus station located on Margaret Street. Look for the bus service heading towards Garve. The most suitable service is the Stagecoach bus number 27 or similar. The journey will take approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes. Make sure to get off at the stop closest to Black Water Falls, which is usually the 'Blackwater' stop. From there, it's a short walk to the falls, following signs or local directions.

Train and Walk
Begin your journey at Inverness Railway Station. Take the train service towards Achnasheen or Kyle of Lochalsh. Disembark at the Achnasheen station, which is approximately a 30-minute ride. From Achnasheen, you will need to walk about 2 miles (approximately 40 minutes) in the direction of Garve. Follow the signs or use a map application on your phone to guide you to Black Water Falls.

Cycling
If you're feeling adventurous, consider renting a bicycle from one of the rental shops in Inverness. Head towards the Great Glen Way, which is a scenic route. Follow the path through the countryside towards Garve. The journey is approximately 12 miles and will take around 1.5 to 2 hours depending on your cycling speed. Keep following the signs for Black Water Falls once you reach the Garve area.

For those who enjoy walking, you can embark on a longer trek from Inverness. It’s about a 14-mile walk to Garve, which will take approximately 4 to 5 hours. Start by heading out of the city towards the A82 road, then take the A835 towards Garve. Once you reach Garve, ask locals for directions to Black Water Falls, which is a well-known local attraction.
