Walk
If you are starting from the city centre of Inverness, head southwest on Church Street toward Castle Street. Continue straight onto Castle Wynd and then onto Castle Road. After about 0.5 miles, you will reach the Inverness Castle. From there, follow the signs to the River Ness. Cross the bridge over the River Ness, and follow the riverbank path along the River Ness heading toward the Caledonian Canal. Once you reach the Caledonian Canal, turn left and continue walking along the canal path until you reach Dochgarroch Lock. It will be approximately a 1.5-mile walk from the city centre, taking around 30 minutes.

From Inverness city centre, walk to the bus stop located on Academy Street. Board the number 5 bus toward 'Dochgarroch'. The bus will take you directly to Dochgarroch, and the journey will take approximately 15 minutes. Once you arrive at Dochgarroch, it’s a short walk to Dochgarroch Cottages where the Loch Ness by Jacobite tours begin. Make sure to check the bus timetable ahead of time.
