If you're traveling by car, start from the main town of Bowmore. Head southwest on the A846 towards Port Ellen. Continue on the A846 for approximately 13 miles until you reach the junction for the B8016 towards Laphroaig Distillery. Turn left onto B8016 and follow the road for about 1.5 miles. Look for the signpost for Soldiers Rock, where there is a small parking area. From the parking area, it's a short walk to the viewing point.

Take a bus from Bowmore to Port Ellen on the Islay Bus service. Buses usually run several times a day and the journey takes about 25 minutes. Disembark at the stop near Laphroaig Distillery. From there, you can walk along the B8016 towards Soldiers Rock, which is about a 30-minute walk. Ensure to check the bus schedule ahead of time as services may vary.
