Kilearnadil: A Tranquil Resting Place on the Isle of Jura

Getting There

• Car

  If you are traveling by car, start from the main village of Craighouse on Isle of Jura. Head south on the A846 road towards the southern part of the island. Continue driving until you reach the junction where the road forks. At the fork, keep left to stay on the A846. After about 5 miles, you will see a sign indicating Kilearnadil Cemetery. Turn left onto the dirt path leading to the cemetery. There is a small parking area available nearby.

• Public Transportation

  Public transportation options on Isle of Jura are limited, but you can take the local bus service from Craighouse to the southern part of the island. Check the current bus timetable for the latest schedules. Ask the bus driver to drop you off at the closest point to Kilearnadil Cemetery. From there, it’s a short walk (approximately 1 mile) south along the A846 road until you reach the cemetery. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes, as the terrain may be uneven.

• Walking

  If you’re already in the vicinity of Kilearnadil, you can enjoy a scenic walk. From Craighouse, head south along the A846 road. It is about a 5-mile walk, which will take approximately 1.5 to 2 hours. Enjoy the breathtaking views of the surrounding landscapes and keep an eye out for local wildlife. As you approach Kilearnadil, you will see the cemetery clearly marked.
