    If you're traveling by car, start from Ambleside. Head southwest on the A593 towards Skelwith Bridge. At Skelwith Bridge, continue onto the A591 and follow the signs for the A595. Take the A595 north and then merge onto the A5092. After approximately 4 miles, turn left onto the B5344 towards Holmrook. Continue on this road until you reach the Hardknott Pass. The fort is located at Hardknott Pass, Holmrook CA19 1TH. There is limited parking available near the site, so arrive early during busy seasons.
