From Windermere, take the A591 towards Ambleside. After approximately 5 miles, at the roundabout, take the second exit onto the A590 towards Barrow-in-Furness. Follow the A590 for about 7 miles, then take the exit for the A5074 towards Hawkshead. Continue on the A5074 for about 3 miles, and then turn left onto the Grizedale Forest Road. Follow this road for about 1 mile until you reach the Grizedale Visitor Centre. Note that parking is available but incurs a fee, typically around £5 for the day.
