From Keswick, head southwest on the A591. After approximately 5 miles, turn onto the B5289 toward Borrowdale. Continue on this road for about 3 miles until you reach the Honister Pass. The Honister Slate Mine will be on your left at Honister Pass, Keswick CA12 5XN. There is parking available on-site, but be sure to check for any parking fees that may apply.

Take a bus from Keswick to Borrowdale. You can catch the Stagecoach bus service (Bus number 78) from the bus station in Keswick. The journey takes around 30 minutes. Get off at the stop for Honister Slate Mine. The bus operates regularly, but check the latest timetable for specific times. After getting off, it’s just a short walk to the mine entrance.
