Getting There

• Car

Continue on the A158 for about 5 miles, then turn left onto the B1195 towards Old Bolingbroke. Follow this road for about 3 miles, and you will arrive at Bolingbroke Castle, located on Moat Lane, just off the main road. Parking is available nearby, but please check for any parking fees.

• Public Transportation

  For public transportation, head to Lincoln Central Bus Station. Take the bus service to Spilsby; services such as the Stagecoach East Midlands bus number 3 operate this route. The journey will take about 45 minutes. Once in Spilsby, you will need to change buses to a local service that heads toward Old Bolingbroke. Look for the bus routes that go to Old Bolingbroke. The total travel time from Lincoln to Bolingbroke Castle may be around 1.5 hours, depending on connections. Make sure to check the local bus schedules for any costs, which typically range from £5-£10 for a return ticket.

• Cycling

  If you prefer cycling, you can take a scenic route starting from Lincoln. Follow the B1190 from Lincoln to Bardney, then take the B1195 towards Skegness. This route is approximately 20 miles and will take about 1.5 hours on a bike, depending on your pace. Once you reach Old Bolingbroke, you will find Bolingbroke Castle on Moat Lane. Ensure you have a map or GPS device to guide you along the way.

• Walking

  Walking to Bolingbroke Castle from nearby villages is also an option. If you are in Spilsby, it's about a 3-mile walk to the castle. Head south on the B1195 and follow the signs to Old Bolingbroke. The walk will take roughly an hour. This might be a lovely way to explore the countryside, but be sure to wear comfortable shoes and check the weather.
