Manchester Self Guided Treasure Hunt & Outdoor Exploration Game
Go Quest Manchester
Whilst it was an entertaining few hours in Manchester on this quest, unfortunately we did not find it as good as another similar provider we have used. We prefer the physical book type. Firstly it mentions needing pen and paper only after inputting quest details in. Reviewing long information and puzzles on a small screen was not ideal particularly when it requires screenshots or significant use of pen and paper. Most of them took a while to solve and just wasn’t quite the right balance being fun and frustration. In addition, there was no storyline and it required being familiar with the street names rather than providing proper orientation using landmarks at times. Furthermore, the use of What3Words was a bit pointless as it was just for a very short part. All in all, it was fun to stumble around Manchester and see hidden spots, but the overall experience could be better.

Brilliant day out for all to enjoy
A fantastic, engaging day out in Manchester! As a mum with a 13 year old I was looking for something active but not too exhausting, that we could do together and with my sister. We opted for a StreetHunt Games game, which was great and is essentially an outdoor escape room mixed with a scavenger hunt. StreetHunt Games enabled us explore the city at our own pace (within reason as you have a limited time to finish the game 🤣), solving clever clues while discovering new spots you might not see otherwise. The clues were challenging enough to be engaging but not too frustrating, requiring teamwork to solve puzzles and find hidden details around the city. Thankfully there were no major arguments and it forced us to look around and notice things we might usually walk straight past. Highly engaging, fun, and a great way to see the city! You can even pause the game to take a break if needs be. So we made a pit stop at The Anthologist St Peter's Square and later at The Alchemist New York Street for a post game dinner celebrating our bronze medal award. Hopefully if we do another one of these we will move up the ranks to silver or gold. Would definitely recommend. It’s a shame they don’t offer more city destinations as we’d definitely do another.
