Car
If you're traveling by car, head towards the village of Once Brewed, which is located just off the A69 road. From the A69, take the B6318 towards Housesteads. Follow the signs for Sycamore Gap, which is about 1 mile from the Housesteads Roman Fort. There is a parking area at the nearby Housesteads Fort, where you can park for a small fee (approximately £5 for the day). After parking, it’s a short walk to Sycamore Gap along Hadrian's Wall Path.
Public Transportation
For those relying on public transportation, take a train to Hexham from Newcastle or Carlisle. From Hexham, you can catch a bus (the AD122 service) towards Haltwhistle. Disembark at the Once Brewed bus stop. From there, it's a 20-30 minute walk to Sycamore Gap along Hadrian's Wall Path. Be sure to check the bus schedule in advance, as services can be infrequent. The bus fare is approximately £5-£7 one way.
Walking
If you are already in the vicinity and prefer to walk, you can start from Housesteads Roman Fort. The walk to Sycamore Gap is about 1 mile along the Hadrian's Wall Path, which offers stunning views. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes and bring enough water, as the terrain can be uneven. The path is well-marked, and you will find signs directing you towards Sycamore Gap.
