The land that is now Colwick Country Park has a rich history dating back to 1362. The park’s centerpiece, Colwick Hall, was constructed in the late 18th century and today operates as a private hotel. The country park itself was established in 1978 by Nottingham City Council, transforming former gravel workings into a landscaped recreational area. This thoughtful development created a diverse environment of woodlands, grasslands, and water bodies, offering a natural haven close to the city.

Colwick Country Park boasts two main lakes: the 65-acre Main Lake and the 24-acre West Lake. These lakes provide scenic water views and support a variety of activities.
