If you have access to a car, start your journey from the main town of Kirkwall. Take the A964 towards Orphir, then follow the signs for the B9056 towards Stromness. After approximately 15 miles, you will arrive in Stromness. From there, take the ferry from Stromness to Hoy, which operates regularly. The ferry ride takes about 20 minutes and costs around £5 for a single adult ticket. Once you arrive in Hoy, follow the signs for the Hoy High Lighthouse, which is located approximately 2 miles from the ferry terminal. You can park near the lighthouse.
